Los Angeles

Hacienda Canteras is located 25 kilometers from Los Angeles into the mountains. With a surface area of 4,861 hectares, it was acquired by the family in the 70s. It also has historic significance for being the land of Bernardo O’Higgins Riquelme, one of Chile’s national heroes.

Known for its flat topography with sandy soil, lots of water for irrigation, and mountain weather, Hacienda Canteras emphasis is on livestock production. This is based in a direct system of cattle grazing and a final stage in confinement, where the feeding base is corn silage which is produced in the premises.

The large amount of livestock facilitates the processing of large amounts of compost, which are the basis for improving the fertility of all the lands in this productive system, contributing to the fertility of crops and fruits.

Besides the 1,400 hectares dedicated to annual crops, there are projects for the development of fruit production, which have already started with cherry production for the exports market.
